Kozminski University, located in Warsaw, Poland, founded in 1993, is a private institution of higher education with full academic rights. Kozminski University is classified in the prestigious educational rankings provided by the ‘Financial Times’ – Business School rankings, which include the best universities from around the world. Kozminski University holds three international accreditations: EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB.The University holds the rights to award doctoral degrees in three disciplines: management, economics and law. Internationalization is part of IZU’s founding strategy and great importance is attached to the promotion of the Erasmus Program, implementation of Bologna Process and enhancement of European Education and Research Areas. The International Relations Office (IRO) has been established in 2009 to coordinate internalization efforts. IZU received its Erasmus Charter in 2010. Since then, our international network and partnerships have grown quite rapidly reaching 33 cooperation protocols with agreements for student/staff mobility.

The University of Leeds is acclaimed world-wide for the quality of its teaching and research, and continues to be ranked within the top 100 universities in the QS world rankings.  Leeds is one of the largest universities in the UK with an annual income of €649m and over 33,000 students (over 6870 from overseas) and approximately 7,540 staff of 99 different nationalities, attached to 560 different undergraduate and 300 postgraduate degree programmes.  In 2010/11 its annual research income exceeded €157 m of which 7.9% was derived from EU awards. The University of Leeds is currently successfully co-ordinating 82 FP7 projects and is a partner in a further 116 FP7 projects.  A further 30 FP7 grants are under negotiation; 10 of which are co-ordinated by Leeds.  It has hosted/is currently hosting 43 Marie Curie Individual Fellowships and Integration Grants and is currently co-ordinating 8 FP7 Marie Curie Initial Training networks and is a partner in a further 13.  Leeds total income from FP7 is in excess of €84m with a further €16.5m under negotiation. Under FP6 Leeds was involved in over 200 funded projects that were awarded research income of over €60m.  The University of Leeds therefore has a very successful track record of managing both individual fellowships and large international projects and of hosting visiting researchers of all career stages for both training and knowledge transfer purposes.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) holds a very important place in local administration organization of Istanbul. Its area of responsibility encompasses the entire provincial territory, which spans a total area of 5,343 km2. IMM has 25 municipal enterprises, 2 subsidiary public utility corporations (Transport Authority and Water & Sanitation Authority) and 43,500 employees in total. It is responsible for wide variety of areas including environment, natural-gas supply, energy, infrastructure, planning and development, IT, transportation, community services and vocational education, health-wellness, food & catering, culture, tourism etc.

The responsibilities of IMM are divided into various categories, and European Union is one of the most essential ones. IMM carries out its EU activities through its EU Relations Department which was established 2005.
